Snorri Valsson

I was born Feb. 6th 1963 in Reykjavík. I have lived there all my life except 1984-89, when I was in Vienna studying trumpet playing. When I came home I studied to be a guide and worked in music in the winter and as a guide in the summer for a number of years and then gradually moved into tourism all year around. I finished my MA degree in International Relations from the University of Iceland in 2008 and continued working in tourism. I therefore know Iceland as a tourist destination and the tourism sector like the back of my hand. I have been working at the Icelandic Tourist Board since 2016. My assignments have included working on the VAKINN Quality and Environmental system and on the Tourist Site Protection Fund, among other projects. I am now also responsible for PR & Media and have for example been working on that regarding the volcanic eruptions on the Reykjanes Peninsula in the last three years.
